Robert, I'm not sure what you are referring to.  I'm still able to access 
CVS for both projects without any special contortions.  This "just works":

$ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous at nitros9.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/nitros9 \
      co nitros9

Are you saying that pserver isn't working for you?
