[Coco] Drivewire / Coconet ? Is a rs232 pack any faster than the bit banger?

Faster? Technically, no. However the RS232 PAK can transmit and receive with little overhead to the CoCo, whereas the bit banger requires almost exclusive "attention" of the CPU to drive properly.
