[Coco] problems creating a boot disk from NitrOS9 03.02.09

I have been using that method as well. I write in TextPad, save as Mac
format ($0D), open a .os9 image and insert file. The problem is, sometimes
I'm making small changes that the process described above takes too much
time for. It is easier to make the changes in OS-9 and save to that copy. By
making sure I have the changes in both files, I can keep it straight. I
would rather not have to edit in OS-9, because I am spoiled by TextPad. MESS
allows me to paste, but it will not allow me to copy. I can create a file in
OS-9, using edit, by the name of the procedure file. Then I paste the code
into edit, or into Basic09's edit mode. That's better. because it will
report errors on the fly.

With my MESS installation working, for the most part, correctly now, I can
switch between the emu and textpad at will. I just wanted to be able to make
the HD bootable. I remember having the 20-megger I had on my CoCo3 setup
that way. I thought maybe I could do it from an emulator. Your previous post
has my attention. So, if I understand this correctly, instead of a 94 meg HD
image, I will have a 94 meg HD image, partitioned into the sizes of whatever
floppy images I have on it. Each separate image is a separate "partition".
But I would be accessing them the same as any other disk, using /dv#.

At this moment, I am dsaving all the separate floppy images I have gotten.
With 94 megs, I think I can probably save ecerything there is and not run
out of room. And the nice part is, the file for the HD image is only using
1.3 megs of space on my hd, and I have all of the original OS-9 Level 2
disks, except C, Pascal, and the Level 1 versions of it all. I am creating a
complete system disk for NitrOS-9 that will contain all of the modules, all
of the sys files, and all of the different commands found on the separate
disks and on SF. I am using the layout of the directories as my guide.

Wayne
