I had heard of that, but it seemed to me that it would have cost a bit both 
in the dmax of the negative, but in the overall speed in ASA/ISO units, so I 
never tried that.  I did play with High Contrast Copy 35mm and home made D-23 
for a while, and got some great results if the exposure was spot on, but that 
was picky, very picky, and that is not a panchromatic film, no red.  It sure 
could test your lenses resolution though, counting every hair on the subjects 
head from 20 feet away if you were well focused.  There was a huge diff 
between F8 and F1.4 for the prime lens, not so much diff for the other, 
slower lenses.  I have a suitcase of pentax threaded lenses yet.  Genuine 
antiques now, like I am getting to be.
