Had that happen to two HP DC530s. Plugged the AC cord into the power supply 
and BLAMB!!! Sparks!! Smoke!!! BANG!!! then nothing. I was somewhat nervous 
about plugging the thrid one in 8-). But it did not go nuclear as the other 
two had and it is now sitting under my dc7700 on my desk being used as a 
VirtualPC lab tester for the classes I teach. Aanndd it now has 3gig of RAM 
thanks to the other two 8-). Sure got my heart going pitty pat though.
