Turned out to be simple. I was using a version of Winserver obtained on 
March 6th. There is a later one posted March 8th that works correctly.

When you print something from NitrOS-9, a new window on the server opens 
containing the text material. This window is used to send the text to 
the Windows printer and does not care if the connection is parallel or USB.
