So you would have been about three or four when the CoCo was first
introduced? Wild. I dated a younger woman for awhile, and would pick
on her saying I had a computer in my closet older than she was. ;-)
Talk about making me feel old!
After the last CoCoFest, I got a bit depressed thinking back. In 1990,
me and Terry Todd bummed a ride in the back of a pickup truck which
drove 2 hours North from Houston to pick us up in Lufkin, Texas. We
then rode to Atlanta, Georgia for the first Dave Myers/Atlanta
Computer Society CoCoFest. I seem to recall at that first Fest, I
wasn't 21 yet, and couldn't meet the "old folks" in the bar after hours.
I look back, and suddenly that's 18 years later. From my first CoCo to
that CoCoFest was a mere eight years. Then five more before I moved to
Iowa in 1995 -- so now at 13 years with the CoCo. Then I remember the
whole "CoCo 2000" idea -- let's take the CoCo to its 20th
Anniversary... Now it's almost a decade past that. Wow.
So to the rest of you guys out there... Seeing how I feel, you guys
must REALLY feel old ;-)
I can't think of a nicer group of folks to grow up around!!!
