today i had a brilliant idea, rather then go visit the clown up town
again and pay a few dollars per magazine for him to cut the spines of
my rainbow mags with a guilotine that has blunt blades and chunks
taken out of it, i thought i would have a go myself

i had a look at the book and noticed there is inly a very thin run of
glue down the spine and this is really all that needs to be removed

so i went to the local "bunnings warehouse" and bought a $5 stanley
knife and $5 pack of 10 replacement blades

tonight when the kids went to bed i put the rainbow magazine on top of
a cutting board i nicked from the kitchen and *VERY CAREFULLY* cut the
glue off the spine.

this does take some time and patience is required and a steady hand. i
reckon you could very easily go wrong with this if you were not paying
attention

anyhow after about 15 minutes i had achieve this and had pretty
straight edges as well i might add

i then inserted 10 pages in the scanner and let it go

works like a charm
yippie!

more scanning tomorrow

night all
