I wrote some code a few months ago to try and push the bit banger past
the 115.2K baud rate. What I managed to achieve will pull in about 10
frames-per-second of PMODE 0 screens ( 128x96 monochrome) through the
4 pin DIN connector.  I would think a hard drive or flash device
should be able to do much better.

What is the resolution and frame rate that the Timex is achieving?
