Hehe... That's why I mentioned NitroPDF; it automatically did the OCR. ;)

I did this with a service manual for work. Ended with a nice pdf file that was searchable. Something to consider.

The use of some good OCR software would be nice to keep the size of
PDF files down - likely a lot more work; but, worth it in the end(?)
