thanks for all the help guys, I was able to at least verify that the CART ROM enable output does not go low during a write cycle. This obviously precludes being able to write to the EEPROM in-socket. Unless there's a GIME register somewhere that could be tweaked, what I want to do isn't apparently possible without a major undertaking. -Mike
