I've been able to make "Flame Proof" resistors and transistor make flames!

The learning curve is shortened if you throw caution to the wind.

BTW.... an automobile battery for a power supply and not using fuses is a
bad idea when learning electronics.
Shorting an auto battery to ground with a metal watch band is cause for
rapid removal of the watch.
Grabbing 240V three phase wires without turning off the breakers..... hurts
a LOT.
Spark plugs will ZAP you a LOT of times before your reaction time will get
you off of that darned thing.

"No pain, no gain"

We still learn. Just keep breaking and burning things. However, you MUST
NOT GRAB HIGH VOLTAGE> It hurts A LOT! (not ALOT < not a word)
