Glen,

Sure, an RTC could be put on, as well as FLASH to hold ROM images.  I  
would venture to say that all of that could even fit in a shortie pak  
on a very small cartridge footprint.

$20?  Could be done, but you would  be giving away your time and some  
of your cost :)  Still it's cool to dream about what can be done!
