Usually on a slip that UPS leaves, indicating attempted delivery, it should  
show where the
package can be picked up by the recipient, usually at the nearest UPS  depot. 
 At least
that's the way it works here in NJ.  
 
I, too, prefer USPS parcel post; at least the local P.O. is a lot closer  
than a UPS depot,
and there's not always the desirability of tracking, with the extra  fee.
