Mark, and others, please use name(at)domain.tld or your e-mail address
does not get through the gmane munger. And the gmane munged e-mail
addresses only work for a short while.

The existence of a list of safe e-mail addresses indicates that the spam
blocking software is 10 years out of date.

I would run a google search on them or any other service before you
change to them.

I have a worse problem, I can only get one cable ISP, and that only
allows client connections. If I want to host a web page with my own
domain, I have to pay someone else. I can not host a web page from any
of my local systems. Some cable ISP's will allow you to buy a service
that provides this, but mine does not.

For the last few years the spam filtering at my broadband ISP was
extremely bad. It was deleting good mails according to users reporting
on an internal newsgroup, and it proved to be incapable of using the
most elementary algorithms that can positively some types of spam.

It appeared that the only reason that they even provided the spam blocking

This changed this last year, and while I do not know for sure why, it
may have been from a number of us posting on internal forum educating
the other users on what the state of the art of spam filtering was, and
that not only it was far more accurate to what the ISP was using, it
also cost a lot less to do. So it could be that if you can get the
other customers of the ISP to keep asking them why they are using an
inaccurate and expensive spam filter instead of the state of the art
methods which are both accurate and cost less.
