Kevin The 1995 date code is post cancelllation date code and should be the latest 
mask set. This will have all the corrections and changes from the original design in 
1979. As for clock speed it is very much possible that the processor will run with 
buss speeds up to 3MHz.  Take care that after 2 MHz the processor does get warm. 
You will  need to do some heat sinking to keep the part cooler.

The EXG instruction will exchange the contents of R1 and R2. So what ever is in R1 
will end up in R2. What ever is in R2 will end up in R1. The registers must be of the 
same bit width. That is 8 bit registers can only be EXG with 8 bit registers. 

The TFR instruction is essentially a copy instruction . That is what is in R1 will be 
copied over to R2. Again this can only be done with registers of the same bit width.
