[Coco] Tandy's biggest mistakes thread

I have always felt that Tandy's biggest mistake is that they were always
about 2 years behind in the technology.

While Tandy was releasing the CoCo2, they should have been releasing the
CoCo3.

The same goes for their PC range. While they were releasing an 80286 with an
XT Bus (Tandy 1000TL), everyone else was releasing a 80286 at double the
clock speed AND a 16 bit AT Bus.

They always seemed to be a year or two behind the technology.

In their favour though, their products were generally of quite good build
quality in comparison.

Maybe their slowness to react was due to them being a large corporation and
things move slowly through the beaurocratic (?) trail.

Also in their favour was that they did market the CoCo a lot more than
Commodore and Atari ever did theirs. Remember that Tandy had their own
distribution store, they packaged their own software and hardware.

Much of the Commodore/Atari marketing/products was third party.....

...and this is probably Tandy's biggest mistake. Not supporting 3rd party
manufacturers.
