Perhaps there are email programs that can, but I have yet to find one.

Thanks to Dennis for setting up the mail-to-news gateway with Gmane.
As long as this gateway is active, anything posted to the list is on
Gmane and vise-a-versa. It does not matter which one you use.

In fact, you don't have to use either an email or news client, you can
use the browser by going to 

http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.hardware.tandy.coco
