Really great. Got to visit some old friends in Prague along the way, too.
The Discovery Channel team was friendly and professional, and thrilled by
the castle. Full journal here: http://bathory.org/ Click "Journal 2004"

Then I'm not the guy to ask. :) They're stored in standard magazine files a
la Quill or Staples, compressed on a shelf so that they don't bend. I tried
to keep 2 copies way back then, one for preservation and one for using
(scanning as needed these days).

Alas, there's more to scan than I have lifetimes, I think ... if only we
had a fairly usable standard format back then, such as PDF. PDF might not
last far in to the future, but I'm sure it will be format-upgradeable since
there's so many millions of documents in that format now. I loathe Adobe,
but they got that one right! PDF has been a publishing lifesaver for me
(especially for my music!) in the past 12 years ... I have about 400 scores
available for download, and it makes rehearsals and performances much easier.

In any case, I wish that all of us had kept our electronic files from back
then. I did everything in electronic format, but have yet to recover all of
that material.

Paper is a good thing, but some of my earliest (pre-computer) articles have
faded, yellowed, and are crumbling.

It's been interesting to live through this era of archiving change, hasn't it?
