Nathan,

I just tried the latest development build of NitrOS-9 with MacMESS .70 
and did the following commands at the shell prompt:

touch x
touch y
dir

The directory showed the files normally.

Using a fresh copy of the disk image on MESS .78 under Windows, I get a 
'..' entry in place of the x when I do a directory.

The discrepancy in behavior may be related to the different versions of 
MESS running, or it could be a compiler issue?  At any rate, it's 
strange that it affects one platform, and not the other.
