Well, if you decide to jump the M$ ship (its sinking you know) then 
welcome to linux, where we still carve code from time to time, and 
some of it is quite tasty.  I did my Christmas cards the hard way 
this year, and when I handed them out, folks wanted to know what 
print shop did them for me.  With my $110 Epson C-82 printer running 
in 1440x1440 32 bit color mode, adjusting things with the Gimp-2.0, 
and printing them with Gutenprint-5.0beta2, my cards couldn't be told 
from ones from a chemical darkroom without getting out a ruler to see 
if they were on 8x10 chemically developed photo paper, or std 8.5x11 
matt finished printing photo paper.  I rather enjoyed saying I used 
linux to do all that as it raises eyebrows, even among the folks that 
think they know me.  And I like raising eyebrows :-)
