Also high value carbon composition resisters tend to absorb 
moisture when setting and  their values change. At work back 
several years ago we found this out with a 100K Ohm 1/8 W carbon 
comp resister. ISTR when parts off the shelf were mesasured they 
were more like 56K Ohm.
