Another vote for KiCAD. Open source Win/Mac/Ubu, and after 29 years it's 
feature set is awful close to what I see on the DipTrace website.
Plus a large user base to help with things like importing digi-key's 
part pinout & footprint library.
A long way from my first tool, DISTO's Schematic Design Processor!
