Hi Everyone,
Many years ago when the CoCo 1was first introduced to the public, I purchased one as an upgradefrom my old Altair that I had been using. I used the Altair torebroadcast WeFax Data to ships at sea using Ham Radio. Hopefully, itdid some good and it saved some lives. When I got the CoCo, I saw allkinds of potential that I could do with this system and I managed todo a lot with it. From running Ham Radio to much much more.
At the height of my use withthe CoCo 1 (and later with the CoCo III) I used the CoCo as a Midiinterface that I used to run 3 Midi Keyboards with, and later builtand ran a small recording studio. Sadly those happy days are longgone. Even though those days are long gone, I managed to save ALL theMidi Files I ever created and collected over the years. So…...
To all of you CoCo users outthere who have Musica I, Musica II, or Lyra (and possibly that otherOS-9 Midi Program – I forget the name) and a Midi Keyboard (orKeyboards), I have a REAL TREAT for you all.
Tonight, I’ve finisheduploading OVER 11,000+ Midi files (both Type 0 and Type 1) onto theinternet. YES, you read that right!!! OVER ELEVEN THOUSAND MIDIFILES!!!
I have been collecting thesefiles over the years and have been trying to put them all into sometype of order. Now while this process is NOT COMPLETE by any means,it is in a lot better shape than when I originally started. Also asmy system (both myself AND my computers) become older, I’ve startedto worry that possibly something might go wrong somewhere andeverything might get lost in the shuffle. Either temporarily orpermanently, which would be a great loss to everyone out there. SoI’ve decided to share everything I have, with everyone...
The Midi files here are eitherTYPE 0 or TYPE 1 Midi files. Some of them originally came from (orwere produced using Musica I or Musica II) while some of the otherswere produced from Lyra. The rest were produced using various otherprograms (on various systems). There are even some files that Icomposed and arranged and you are free to use them in any way you seefit.
The majority of these fileshere can be used on either Musica I, Musica II, or Lyra. I alsobelieve they can be played on that OS-9 Midi Player program (I stillcan’t remember the name – damn that Alzheimers).
Over the past week I have beentalking to Guillaume Major who runs the Color Computer Archive and Iasked him if he would be interested in hosting my Midi Filecollection on his web site. He graciously accepted myoffer and here we are.If you (or anyone else) would like to download and/or use any ofthese Midi files, just go to the Color Computer Archive and downloadwhatever you want from my collection…I have just sent Guillaume anE-Mail letting him know that these files are ready to posted on hissite but give him a couple of days to get everything in order for hissite listing.
I hope everyoneenjoysthese files as much as I have. Havefun...
Just go here:

As a final note, I should liketo take the time to thank Guillaume Major (who runs the ColorComputer Archive) for his help and his gracious offer to post theseMidi Files on his site. Without his help, the posting of these MidiFiles would have taken much longer than I had planned and it ispossible that no one could have seen them again.
Thanks again Guillaume.
P.S. If anyone has anyquestions, feel free to contact me and I will try to answer anyquestions if I can.
Bye for now…
