If you use a version of Disk Extended Color BASIC that has been patched for larger disks and you DSKINI the new blank image, it will expand to the size that BASIC initializes. Also if you boot OS-9/NitrOS9 and format the disk specifying the number of cylinders, heads and sectors it will expand to accommodate the size formatted. I have also included a link below to a pre-loaded SDC hard disk image that boots NitrOS9. Just mount it in drive 0 and type DOS.
