Darn,

Wish I would have stumbled on this earlier.  I think this is the way I would have gone.

Especially since it addresses the audio as well.

Think I might do it anyway. . .

Removing the 5V signal from the 100 ohm resistor switches the monitor into NTSC composite mode, applying 5V switches to RGB.
