Wine bottler runs a Windows application on a Mac using an imbedded copy of Wine. It does not work on Linux. Wine bottled applications tend to be very large as they include much of the Windows folder structure. Wine bottler works on already compiled applications.

Just a nit to pick, I guess, but if you "bottle" an application from a Linux system it will then run on other similarly configured Linux installations, same as the Mac "bottled" version runs on similar Macs. Obviously a Wine lib compiled version is better due to size, but thought I'd point out the most likely obvious...
