You know instead of requiring a separate +5V supply and a 74LS02 IC, you could probably just connect pin 30 on the monitor input to the center pin of the composite video output on the Color Computer 3. That may even work better because the output from the 74LS02 would lack the front and back porch plateaus that most TV/monitors want to see on the sync signal that helps set the black voltage level. The presence of a video signal on the sync line would probably be ignored. Of course there is only one way to find out how well this would work, try it. The cable I designed for SCART uses this approach, but unfortunately it still requires a +5V source to apply a voltage to one of the SCART pins that tells it that you are sending it an RGB signal. That would not be needed with this sony TV/monitor.
