[TCM] Unintentional Attachments to Postings

I know this has been addressed before, but...

I noticed a recent post of mine showed an attachment with some "footer"
info.  This occurs with some people's posts but not others. The attachments
contain the same info that is in the footer of other people's posts (whose
posts do not have attachments).

I thought the fix for this was to set my email program (Outlook) to send
mail in Plain Text vs. HTML format. I have done so, but to no avail. Any
other suggestions?  Because of the content of the attachments (relating to
gancao.net stuff), they presumably are put there by the mail list program -
but why for some and not others?
