[Papyrus-L] ".NEW" file and Word 2000 /Win XP

Dear All
 
I've been struggling with the problems of Papyrus under Win XP but generally getting by with help from previous fora. However, when I have managed the citing and the text extraction and created my .NEW file I find it tends to crash Word when I try to open it to read, edit and paste in the citation list. Sometimes I can manage by only making a few changes in between each document save, sometimes I can't seem to achieve anything. Any ideas?
