I am at once impressed by your generousity at this "bequest" to academic
writing and at the same time saddened to note that you will not be
developing further, this excellent product. Given the splendid support
you have provided over the years (I have been using it and recommending it
for, oh, six or seven years at least) via the Papyrus-L list, this must
have been a decision not taken lightly.

Whatever it is that you do with your time and resources from now on,
please know that your work with Papyrus has provided, and likely will
continue to provide, a stable, flexible and reliable workhorse. I dare
say that with your agreement, there will continue to be a support group of
users for Papyrus, such as this list. I also dare to suggest that this
will become all the more important as our friend from Redmond unleashes
yet more odd formats that give the likes of Papyrus a hard time :-) If
you ever Open Source the code I am confident that the Linux community
could produce a worthy "Penguin-ised" Papyrus to do you justice. I, for
one, would be willing to lend a hand :-)

Best wishes for a Happy New Year to you, Dave, to your support team at
Research Software Design and to my fellow Papyrus users around the World.
Denis
