[Papyrus-L] funny search error: papryrus can't see lots of records with a keyword

Here's one I don't remember seeing before:
  I have 966 records with key word "NK" = according to the F2 lookup- but
when I search for key=NK none of them come up.
 If I search for term=NK I can find them!
 Am I going to have to do an index regeneration?
