Unfortunately, Clare Imholtz's autoresponder problem happened on the one
weekend all year during which I was away from the Internet. As soon as I
returned, late Sunday, I unsubscribed the Imholtz account and stopped the
deluge.

If it is any consolation to those of you who received many hundreds of
e-mails from her autoresponder, each of those e-mails generated several
additional administrative messages. By Sunday evening, my own e-mail in-box
contained 3,632 messages to deal with.
