It's fairly easy. The control+V doesn't work because Windows 2000 doesn't
access the clipboard in the same way as the older windows versions. So,
use a disk file instead. (OS2 and NT required the same workaround.) In
the preferences window, go to os2/nt clipboard, then indicate you want to
use a disk file, then give it a name. (I don't like the Papyrus default -
I use c:/pap/cited.txt, but you can put it anywhere that's convenient,
including in your documents and settings, if you're so inclined). Then you
can use it in citations, etc. From whatever file you're working in, then
just insert the file, telling Word (or wordperfect) to convert it from
ASCII. You could do a macro, but I find direct insertion just as easy, and
I don't have to mess with replying to the prompts the word processor likes
to use. Let me know if you have any problems.

Now, what I haven't figured out how to do is to insert things from other
documents INTO my papyrus files. I suspect if I messed around with windows
rather than full screen, etc. there might be a workaround, but I haven't
bothered taking the time to figure it out. Besides which, anyone in vision
science can appreciate that nearsighted individuals are darned if we'll be
trying to read the fonts in a window.
