[Papyrus-L] The recent news and the disbelief of some.

Hello all, even though I have been a longtime user of Papyrus (back
to pretty early DOS), I have not been vocal on the discussion board.
However, I have appreciated many of your consistent and helpful
contributions and the willingness to be part of a support network for
those having problems.
I want to say that I have truly appreciated Dave's
unparalleled commitment to his product and its support. Over many
years, that has remained truly outstanding in a world where "support"
has moved steadily toward "enter the number x" and listen to the
recording. I am very willing to accept Dave's past estimate that the
outcome of the legal battle would not have significant impact as
having been made in good faith. If anyone needs a clearer example
that our legal system not only can, but does, bend in the wind and in
very unexpected ways (often for totally unpredictable and seemingly
unrelated reasons), I suggest reading David Kaplan's book "The
accidental president." There one will see that the wind has blown in
many, often opposing, directions with very unexpected outcomes.
Forgetting any notion of partisan politics, there is an "I can hardly
believe the thinness of the thread we hang on." on nearly every page.
All I can say to Dave is that it is truly sad that a grat
piece of software and a model company have to end up victims of this
sort of process. I sincerely hope that a means for rebirth can be
found.
