Sign-up to WADC 2025 before 15th of
September for Early Bird

Remember to sign-up before the 15th of September to get the Early bird
(reduced price) for WADC 2025!

Welcome to the 7th World Aquatic Development Conference. The conference
take place at Scandic Star Hotel in Lund, Sweden between 9th-12th
January 2025.

  WADC 2025 will consists of two different tracks, Competitive swimming
and Learn to Swim. Competitive Swimming will start Thursday the 9h
January at 13.00 and end Sunday the 12th January at 15.00. Learn to swim
will start Friday the 10th January at 09.00, and end Sunday the 12th at
15.00.

At WADC you get a unique possibility to extend your network of swimming,
get new knowledge, new ideas and get inspired by speakers and by meeting
other participants. We will have interesting speakers, workshops,
discussions, exhibitors and lot of possibilities to meet new colleagues
of swimming.

If you Sign-up before the 15th September you get the Early Bird price
for WADC 2025. The fee for Competitive Swimming cost 4695 SEK, if you
sign-up before the 15th September. For Learn to Swim the cost is 3795
SEK. After the 15th September the price rises with 500 SEK for each
conference track. There is also possible to participate digital (there
is no Early-Bird on digital sign-up).

The conference fee includes the conference, conference material, 3 lunch
and coffee breaks. If you want to add dinner in the evenings, we can
offer this to a good price at Scandic Star Hotel. You just add this and
lunch for Thursday 8th January, when you sign-up. Saturday the 11th
January we will have the Conference Banquet, do not miss to take part of
this evening! It will be a 3-course dinner, entertainment and
possibilities to be social with old and new swimming friends.

The price is: single room: 995 SEK, double room: 1195, Triple room: 1395

To get this price you need to do the booking before 29th November 2024.
This is a good price, so make sure you got a room before we run out of
rooms. After 29th November and if we run out of rooms, we can not
guaranty this price.

ABSTRACT AND POSTERS

World Aquatic Development Conference (WADC) 2025 is open up for the
possibilities to present a scientific research or a presentation of
applied practice, like experiences from a project, developing an
education, presenting your swim club or swim school.

For Learn to Swim would like to have abstract and poster within these
subjects:

	*

Drowning prevention
	*

Experimental learning
	*

Leadership (how to lead younger coaches? What motivates young coaches?)
	*

Swim schools for children/people with disabilities
	*

Swimming in school.

Abstract

Abstracts must be submitted in English with a maximum of 750 words. The
abstract should describe an original scientific work or your own applied
practice. The abstract must include the title of your abstract and
speak, authors name and e-mail. It must be the author of the abstract
who speak at WADC.

We will offer presentations between 10 - 30 minutes.

Registration

The presenting authors who have an abstract or posters accepted will
have to register with the conference to confirm their presentation.
Presenters will be offered a reduction of 500 SEK for the registration
fee. If the authors fail to register the abstract, poster and the
presentation will be deleted from the final program.

Applied practice.

An applied practice presentation is an opportunity to share findings
from applied practice. The presentation could include findings from or
reflections on applied work. These sessions should be particularly
useful for practitioners and those members on supervised experience
and/or seeking re-/accreditation. The aim of such abstracts is to allow
practitioners to broadcast evidenced-based practice. Authors are
encouraged to explain how the results of the work have contributed to
knowledge and practice in the field.

Posters

All posters must be written entirely in English

• Authors are responsible for setting up and removing their posters

• Materials to pin the posters will be provided

• Maximum size 119 cm high and 84 cm wide

• Handwritten posters are not accepted

• A poster printed on 1 large sheet is welcome

• Text must be easily readable at a 1.5 m distance

Mike Tipton will speak at - Learn to Swim

We are happy to announce Professor Mike Tipton as a speaker at World
Aquatic Development Conference 2025 (WADC) – Learn to Swim. Mike
Tipton is Professor of Human & Applied Physiology. He works at Extreme
Environments Laboratory, University of Portsmouth, UK.

Professor Tipton has spent 40 years researching the areas of drowning
and thermoregulation, environmental and occupational physiology and
survival in the sea. He has published widely in these areas including
the books, “The Essentials of Sea Survival” and “The Science of
Beach Lifeguarding”. Prof Tipton was a Trustee of Surf Lifesaving GB
and is a Council member of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. He
is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and The Physiological
Society, and was awarded: an MBE for services to physiological research
in extreme environments; the Ireland Medal for saving lives from
drowning worldwide and the H&L Swiftwater rescue lifetime achievement
award from the USA.
