*Megan Luu (Moderator) - STRAAD*

Megan leads STRAAD’s growth strategy, fostering a #learning culture that
cultivates shared #leadership, an innovative mindset, and a commitment to
addressing and resolving the intricate challenges our world faces today.
Megan's extensive background equips her to assist clients in navigating
strategic and systemic-level changes. Collaborating with leaders spanning
various industries, she guides them through strategic transformation
initiatives. Megan earned her commerce undergraduate degree from McGill
University and holds an Executive MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.​



*Sue Hylland - University of Ottawa*

Sue Hylland is the Senior Director of Recreation and Varsity Sports for the
University of Ottawa where she leads a team that has 34 Varsity Sports
Programs and delivers Recreation Programs and hundreds of events annually
for a campus of close to 55,000 students and employees. She joined uOttawa
in late August 2016 after having been the President and CEO for the Canada
Games Council since 2002, Canada’s only national multi-sport event for our
next generation national, international and Olympic champions. Prior to
this, Ms. Hylland spent two years as the Executive Director of the Canadian
Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity
(CAAWS – now called Canadian Women and Sport) and close to 18 years with
the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) in the Sport Technical and Games
areas.  She was involved in ten Olympic and Pan Am Games and was the lead
staff of Canada’s operations at the Nagano 1998 and Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games.

Ms. Hylland completed her undergraduate degree at Bishops University as a
proud Gaiter and followed this with a Diploma in Sports Administration at
Concordia University, which started her career in sport.   She was named to
the All-Canadian Women’s Basketball Team in her graduating year at Bishop’s
University and was co-captain of the gold medal Quebec Women’s basketball
team in the 1979 Canada Winter Games in Brandon, Manitoba.  In 2012 Sue was
a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipient and in January 2016, she was
recognized with others on the CAAWS Most Influential Women list for
demonstrating influence and leadership from coast to coast and provincial
to international levels in sport and physical activity.

Sue has been active in sport at the University level and also in her
community as participant, coach, volunteer and parent for over 50 years.
She currently sits on the Coaching Association of Canada Board of Directors
as the Federal Appointee and is active on numerous U SPORTS and OUA
Conference Committees.



*Nathan Bombrys - Rugby Canada*

Rugby Canada CEO, Nathan Bombrys, originally from Michigan, joined the
national governing body of rugby in Canada in the summer of 2022. Bombrys
has two decades of experience in senior leadership roles in European rugby,
including as Managing Director at Scottish club Glasgow Warriors who
compete in the United Rugby Championship and Heineken Champions Cup,
Commercial Director at Sale Sharks of England’s Gallagher Premiership, and
senior commercial roles at Scottish Rugby.

Bombrys came to Rugby Canada last summer after completion of his term at
Scottish Rugby, has an accomplished track record of leading sports business
transformations, building successful teams, driving commercial growth and
achieving on-field success. He has also played a key role in the strategic
planning and development of leagues and competitions from the early years
of professionalism to present day, and leading successful major event bids
for World Rugby Sevens World Series, PRO14 Finals, and international test
matches.

Over the past few months Rugby Canada hosted the hugely successful Pacific
Four Series in Ottawa, which included the biggest day of women’s rugby ever
in Canada with over 10,000 supporters turning up to support Canada against
New Zealand at TD Place.  Canada’s women’s 7’s team qualified for the Paris
2024 Olympics, with our men missing out to USA in the Final, at the Rugby
Americas North Rugby 7s Olympic Qualifiers hosted by Rugby Canada at
Langford, BC in front of the largest ever crowds for a North American Rugby
7s Qualifier.   Rugby Canada has also recently signed a first ever
Collective Agreement with the newly formed Canadian Rugby Players
Association that will set out Rugby Canada’s partnership and support of our
players through 2026.



*Dr. Andy Van Neutegem - Own the Podium*

>From the period 1996-2006, Dr. Andy Van Neutegem worked in the UK in a
number of sport leadership roles including Athletic Director at Bournemouth
University and UK Sport’s Head of the National Anti-Doping Program for the
United Kingdom. He returned to Canada in 2008 to work for Canadian Sport
Institute-Pacific as a High Performance Director as well as undertake the
Lead role in the Performance Readiness Division (Psychology, Research and
Medical Services) of the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific.

Andy is currently the Vice President of Performance
Sciences, Research & Innovation with Own the Podium. He served as a High
Performance Athlete Development Advisor. He started with Own the Podium in
2016 as an athlete pathway advisor alongside his role as the High
Performance Director of the National Wheelchair Rugby Team which he held
since 2008. Andy led the team to a bronze medal in Beijing 2008 and a
silver medal in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, a silver medal at the
World Championships in August 2014, and a fourth place finish in Rio 2016.
In 2014-15, Andy also served in the role of General Manager with Hockey
Canada responsible for the National Sledge Hockey Program, winning a silver
medal at the Para-Ice Hockey World Championships.

Dr. Van Neutegem's academic background includes faculty member and
Department Chair in the Centre for Sport and Exercise Education at Camosun
College. He currently is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British
Columbia in the Master’s degree, High Performance Coaching & Technical
Leadership. Andy received his Doctorate (2007) from the University of
Southampton, England in career and life transitions with a focus on athlete
maladaptive behaviours. He was the lead consultant in the development of
the national athlete career transition program in Canada, entitled Game
Plan. In 2016, Andy was the recipient of the Coach Association of Canada
Investors Group National NCCP Coach Developer Award.



*Laura Watson - Own the Podium*

Laura Watson, a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC), has built her career
creating exceptional spaces for people to grow, thrive, and be better. She
believes that it is our shared responsibility to create positive and safe
spaces for those around us, grounded in our ethics and values, by leading
from anywhere. She is committed to helping people make people better, in
the pursuit of excellence.


As an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of excellence,
Laura’s strengths reflect a balance of leadership and strategic vision.
Laura leads the Pursuit program with Own the Podium. A partnership of five
national multi-sport partners, Pursuit is designed to “support and enhance
Canada’s high performance coaches and technical leaders in their inspired
pursuit of excellence in Olympic and Paralympic sport”. She previously
worked with the Coaching Association of Canada and ViaSport British
Columbia.


Committed to lifelong learning, Laura completed executive education at the
Sauder School of Business, earned an Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) from
the Canadian Sport Institute, and achieved a master’s degree in High
Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership (MHPCTL) from the University
of British Columbia. She facilitates coaching courses across Canada and
internationally and was the first certified Master Coach Developer in
Canada. Laura represents Canada on the coaching committee for World
Wheelchair Rugby.


On her continued path of learning, Laura enjoys taking courses in wine
education through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). She is on the
Board of Directors of the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS), an
organization who supports people with disabilities and community care
providers by partnering them with certified assistance dogs. Based in
Vancouver, British Columbia, Laura enjoys swimming, playing golf, and
walking with Murphy (her enormous Bernese Mountain Dog).
