Dear Friends of the Contemporary Physics Education Project,

At this time of the year, I would like to wish you a very happy holiday season. As this is the end of the year, I would like to tell you about some of our accomplishments.

This year, we updated the Particle Physics chart to reflect the newly discovered Higgs meson. This discovery, which was awarded the Nobel Prize, is shown as one of the basic blocks of nature. We realized that our old chart was obsolete and necessary to change. This version has been fully vetted by the world’s experts in High Energy Physics. With this chart, you can view all of known basic properties of matter and some of the particles which current research is searching.

Secondly, one of the founders of our organization, research physicist Rush Holt, recently retired from Congress after working on the hill for many years. He now will become the CEO of the AAAS (American Association for Advancement of Science).

We have been honored by the popular television show, “The Big Bang Show”. That show recently replaced the periodic table by our very own Particle Physics chart. If you look at the classroom scenes, you should be able to spot it.

Lastly, we have now made it easier for people to obtain our material. We have now become a partner of http://amazon.com <http://amazon.com/> and you can easily order our products directly from them. We have a list of our products on our web page http://cpepphysics.org/order.html <http://cpepphysics.org/order.html>.The page gives the direct Amazon link. Or if you are on the Amazon web site, just enter “Nuclear Physics Poster” and you will see some of our material. If you are thinking of a holiday gift for someone who has everything or even your local physics teacher, you might consider one of our items. In fact, we have just made public for the first time, our highly popular laminated placemats. Where else can you dine and learn about physics at the same time.

Once again, have a very happy holiday season.

Howard Matis, President, Contemporary Physics Education Project
