[Coco] There was a CoCo 3 update to Zaxxon! Before Z-89

Roger showed me a screen shot (or maybe it was a video clip) of the editor that had the spaceships in it. I expect that will all get posted to his blog when he gets caught up. The editor has a fat-bits type thing and then 16 color choices on the right.

I think Roger told me there was a 256x192x16 model — he said he replicated all the modes in his FPGA CoCo 3 project.

Since some of the Zaxxon stuff (fonts, etc.) were using 256x192 as that, and others used artifact to make colors, effectively treating those objects like 128x192 PMODE3 type graphics, maybe that’s why it chose the 256x192x16 color. That mode could do two red dots side by side for the color, and still use the one dot for white on black for text and such.

But I speculate. I don’t know much about CoCo 3 graphics beyond what I did when I first got mine and did some logos and such for my dad:
