CoCoTALK Live! News stories for Episode 287, November 5, 2022
================================================
(October 29-November 4)
Collected by L. Curtis Boyle

Coco 1/2/3 (and multi-platform)
-------------------------------
Voidstar Tech posted a video showing him connecting two 8 bit computers
(a PET and a Coco 3) via WiModems to connect to each other via wireless
LAN:
  https://youtu.be/PH7YtoxOdrI

Robert Emery posted a video showing his Portable Coco 3, with a *lot*
of mods:
  https://youtu.be/rP8AFvWrdVM

Geek with Social Skills on YouTube received a Coco 2 that had been
stored in a barn, and given to him by Tim Lindner. Spoiler - it ain't
working outta the box:

JaysVintageJunk on YouTube did several videos this past week. First he
did a "Pickups from Golborne" where he picked up several things,
including a Coco 2 (21:50 for the Coco 2):
  https://youtu.be/Ik5wtDOMKfk

Then his first turning it on and trying to remember how to use it:
  https://youtu.be/b_ZetvvqUfg

And finally a video where he got some tape games working on it (both
real cassette & through WAV files from a laptop):

with Ian Mavric from Australia about Tandy Assembly:

Our very own Ken of Canadian Retro Things did a follow up video
exploring "is it worth installing a 6309 in a Coco 1/2?". This time he
concentrates on the power draw and heat from the 6809 vs. 6309 CPU, and
the fact that running the 6309 version of NitrOS9 and BASIC09 allows
existing programs to speed up without one having to change a single
line of BASIC09 code (which he shows using a Mandelbrot set graphics
drawing program. It still takes a long time, but noticeably less):
