[Coco] CoCo Emulators

When I cloned the repo and built, I had to copy the ROMS to the folder that held the executable. Since I was building debug AND release, I had to copy them to both locations.

There might be an easier way to point VCC at the roms - I didn't dive deep at all.

BTW, for the VCC maintainers, is there a preferred method to get dev permissions to the repo? There are some trivial bugs I'd like to fix but I don't have permissions. The readme says to contact the maintainers, but doesn't list a preferred method to contact (email, open an issue, carrier pigeon 🙂 )

John

Where did you download VCC from? You may have a very old copy

I think VCC might be the best for me. I’m not using artifact colors. I mentioned the ECB CoCo2 because that ROM set was all I needed, but emulation of the CoCo3 will work just fine.

Yesterday I downloaded VCC and tried to run it. I don’t remember what the error was that occurred but it might have been the lack of the ROMs. Should I place the ROMs and VCC in the same Windows directory, or is there another way of making sure VCC sees those ROMs?

Being an avid VCC user (and developer), I would normally suggest VCC. But being that you are dealing with PMODEs and artifact colors, I would suggest XRoar. XRoar has about the best emulation of a Coco 2 and the artifact colors are better.
