[Coco] COCO keyboard connectors and plastic ribbon cables?

It looks like one of these might fit the COCO keyboard socket if I plug 
it in carefully.

I am wondering if I can cut the end off and trim back some of the 
plastic.   Possibly use the ribbon for more than one adapter.
