This product is strangely appealing to me. i have some old PC in storage that have floppy drives and would like to get them to stop using these devices. I have lots of file on floppies which theoretically I have copied over to CD, so this is the kind of product that I would find very useful, perhaps even thinking of purchasing more than one.

Not familiar with the Gotek product, but from looking at the Amazon link I am understanding that this device connects to the computer using a standard flat floppy cable. Is this correct? Then, instead of a floppy disc, I can use any kind of USB flash memory drive to emulate a 1.44MB floppy.? Interesting.
For example, if I manage to get MS-DOS on the USB flash stick and connect the Gotek to an old PC, will it boot to MS-DOS?
