You can but?

You need to make sure the edge connector is lined up with the coco's bus connector and that you don't ever dislodge it while everything is powered on. I have blown two 6309s doing this.

Subject: [Coco] Y-Cable for CoCoSDC and Sound/Speech Pak?

I just bought a Sound and Speech Pak on e-bay but don't yet have an MPI
(waiting on the next round of mega-mini MPIs from Zipster!)

I've heard vague mention about simple y-cables made with ribbon cable and
the proper IDC edge connectors, but I can't really find any info regarding
if it is really this simple, or if there needs to be some additional
components involved. I did see some posts (after google searching) that
said the ribbon y-cables are unreliable and to watch out for improperly
pinned cables.

So, while I wait for a real MPI solution, can I use a y-cable for the SDC
and Sound/Speech pak? Can I just crimp on the two edge connectors to a
ribbon and connect those to a 40 pin finger board?
