Looking up who now owns the majority of stock in Yahoo, and how much they
have pumped the stocks, it's quite clear that whatever remains of yahoo is
set to implode sometime next year, most likely early.

So, yeah, it was better for them to try to get everyone hosting anything on
servers in a yahoo domain to move their stuff before next year.
