[Coco] NitrOS9 + CoCo SDC (30M) - How to access real floppy?

Thanks for the quick replies gentlemen. No problem accessing the floppy through BASIC as you describe Robert (DRIVE 0,OFF), but how to disable drive 0 (single real floppy drive) and still be able to boot from CoCo SDC??

Doug, the rb1773 driver is indeed there, but no f0 or f1 descriptors. There are however x0...x3 descriptors. Will do some more research on this.

Thanks!

Cary

Cary,
When you boot off the CoCoSDC into NitrOS9, do an 'mdir' command. If you see the 'rb1773' driver and 'f0' or 'f1' descriptors in memory then all you need do is a 'dir /f0' or 'dir /f1, with a disk in the drive to access the files. If rb1773, f0 and f1 aren't in memory then they will need to be added with the kwikgen command.
The NitrOS9 modules are in /dd/nitros9/6309l2/modules/rbf IIRC.

Cary,

You would need to send a command to the CoCoSDC turning one of the mounts to access a real floppy.
That can be done easily from Basic but probably not from NitrOS-9. Barry Nelson's CoCoSDC utility
disk for OS-9 does not seem to have the drive ON/OFF command.

Why don't you switch one of the CoCoSDC drives to your real floppy before booting NitrOS_9?
DRIVEn,OFF
That should engage your real floppy where n is the drive number desired.
