With the one in that link, you can connect the CoCo’s RF output directly into the TV’s RF coax input. It uses  video RCA cable, but it is not composite, it is still RF. It just takes the switch box out of the equation.

I have some, although the ones I have connect directly to the CoCo and uses an RF (coax cable to connect to the TV). The one pictured in the above auction connects directly to the TV and uses RCA (composite) cable.

Such a timely question as I have two CoCo 1s with bad modulators. I'm going
to remove the RF modulators and install a basic circuit that is in the
Motorola MC6847 datasheet.

I have built 3 of Ed's older boards, which you can download from OSH Park.
His work is extremely good. Again, it's an older version. So my
recommendation in order:

1) CoCoVGA
2) Ed's new board
3) Ed's older board (OSH Park)
4) MC6847 circuit (Pretty simple enough to build)

BTW, before you go through these steps, if your video signal isn't working
from your CoCo 1, be sure you have spent time fiddling with the RF POTs.
