...it appears they do it by reading in the bitmap and calculating it. That surprised me. I thought there would be something handled by the file manager. I spent more time on OS-9/68K and the OS-9000 (“OS-9 to XXX”) variations when I worked for Microware, I have forgotten how small OS-9 started out at.
