Subject: [Coco] RS-232 Pak problems

I am trying to fire up my RS-232 Pak for the first time in ages.

I have a CoCo 3, and upgraded old-style MultiPak, and CoCoSDC, SuperIDE and RS-232 Pak plugged in.

When I try to run Greg-E-Term or Ultimaterm and use it, I don’t seem to get anything.

If I boot into OS-9, and use the /t2 and sc6551 drivers, I can echo modem commands and I see the TX lights blink, and I see the RX light blink back long response strings - it is getting the message.

But, under the OS-9 terminal programs I have tried (like Supercomm), my typing goes out, but I never see input.

echo ATI2 >/t2 ; dump </t2

…shows no return input, even though I see the lights blinking strings of return info.

I am puzzled at why the RS-DOS programs don’t work but OS-9 at least partially does.

Also, I cannot run the ROM in the Pak:

EXEC 49152 / EXEC &HC000 — crashes in spectacular ways.

I even tried it with the pak plugged direct to the CoCo 3.

I’ve moved slots around, too, with SDC in 4 and RS232 in 1, in case something was hard coded.

What am I forgetting?
