[Coco] Happy Birthday BASIC!

Microsoft BASIC did that back in the CPM days (and, yes, there is even a
version for the Z80 based TRS-80s.) Not the convert to C part but the make
an executable that doesn't require any IDE.

The cool thing about QB64 is that it converts the basic program to C and
then compiles it so the programs are free standing and don't need the IDE
to run.
